Day 8 - Richmond TASMANIA
When Roger and I woke we quickly had breakfast keen to see in the light what Richmond had to offer and we were pleasantly surprised. We found that Richmond was full of "historic firsts" such as the oldest bridge, which we photographed for quiet awhile and the river bank as well. Richmond also sports the oldest Roman Catholic church, and oldest postal building in Australia, and the oldest gaol in the state.
After photographing we had to stop for a while as Roger was so tired the night before he forgot to put his camera on charge, so we stayed in Richmond for lunch. Roger found a great cafe called The Maze and we met the lovely owner Peter, who we chatted for quiet a while and made us fantastic calligraphy memorabilia.I also had time alone to wonder the wonderful Historic shopping area and pick up some souvenirs for the kids.
