Aunty Betty visit in Amsterdam

Now this is confusing! Aunty Betty Akkerman while we were visiting for dinner helped us organise catching up with Oma De Heus's sister - Darren's great Aunty Betty- now if you are looking for cute, she takes the cake. great aunty Betty some of the Aussie might remember the BBQ's old Oma and her sister use to put on during one of her visits to Australia (of course these were back in Brown Street, Waverley days.
This was another fun experience for us as we followed phone call directions to get us from Amsterdam central to the outer suburbs of Amsterdam - we love catching the tram - let me see we had to catch Tram Number 2 from Central and get off 2 stops before last stop at Antwerpenbaan.
We had such a good time catching up and listening to all the stories -especially Dillon and Taylor as many of them they had not heard before. Aunty Betty is over ninety and still is as spritey as ever doing all her own cleaning and cooking. I also got a chance to meet more cousins by being introduced to Cousin Jodie and her husband who have spent much of their life in America. The only sad thing was that we run out of time due to previous commitments and could not stayed longer to have dinner with them- we only planned on a short visit as to not over do it for Aunty Betty. It was such a lovely time and I still have a tear in my eye when I think about you waving us off from your balacony - Darren and I are planning to come back in 2009.
