When spending time with The Akkermans - we would like to once again express our gratitude to Hans Peter and Marjolein for their hospitality and giving us a rare treat of Yachting across a man made harbour.
Hans Peter picked us up from Amsterdam in his car and drove us all back to Hilversum, where we met up with Marjolein and the kids. After catching up a bit over coffee and way to much cake we set off to go sailing on Hans Peter's boat 'Wanderlust'. The day was a great day for sailing as they say, it was a bit windy and the clouds look very dark as Marjolein prepared sandwiches with great skill while riding the waves. After about half and hour Jet managed to sail us safely into De Haven van Huizen to have a break and warm up with some traditional Dutch fisherman drinks (thick red wine)- very nice.
We all left Huizen a lot merrier and it took our minds off the fact that we got caught in the rain.
