Orvieto

The town of Orvieto holds an international photo competition each year during March and Trudi and I were interested to visit this town because of that. It is on the way to Rome so was not out of our way. However the GPS took us the old route to the town including going up this steep dirt track with no guard rail and a cliff face on one side that makes the gap look small. Trudi was absolutely shitting herself but we had to go forward as there was no turning back. I would have to say that was the most terrifying drive I have done except maybe driving up to the remarkables in NZ. Orvieto is another fortified town similar to Siena with small cobblestone paved streets and beautiful shops.
