Verona for a day
Today we are in Verona the birthplace of the Romeo and Guilliette story. First after the bag drop off we went and had breakfast in a Café over looking the Arena – a 2000-year-old stadium from the Roman Times. Outside the Arena there were dressed up roman Soldiers which Dillon wanted photos with. Followed by visiting Casa de Guilette, where Shakespeare was inspired to write Romeo and Juliet. We took photos of Jullittes balcony and all the love letters that people over the years have placed there. Other places we visited were Chiesa di San Nicolo (which is two church’s in one) and over 1000 years old, then onto Chiesa della Scala and entered Piazza Erb plus Piazza di Signori where we took lots of photos of Torre dei Lamberti and Loggia de Fra Giarondo.
After seeing Arche Scaligere and Piazza Anastasia we followed the streets to Ponte di Pietra where we had lunch at Cappa Café overlooking the Fuime Adige (river) drinking Campari and Sodas with a backdrop of Castle San Pietro – now is that living it or what. On the way back to the hotel we walked along the river to Castlevecchio and went inside crossing over a drawbridge. Very cool. We took photos of Jullittes balcony and all the love letters that people over the years have placed there. We will put those pics up soon. I forgot to mention that Dillon is on a mission to eat ice cream across Italy.

Hi guys, we are happy you made it. You saw the most beautifull city on earth already (Venice) in the most beautiful country of Europe (Italy). I hope the rest of your trip won't be disapointing (haha). But don't worry they call Amsterdam 'Venice of the north' and Florance, Rome and Paris are beautiful too so it will be very interesting I'm sure. Love, Paul Jan van de Wint and family xxxx
